V království známek
Britští panovníci jsou vášnivými sběrateli známek a Královská filatelistická společnost vznikla jako klub anglických gentlemanů. Málokdo však ví, že v Londýně už více než 60 let působí také společnost, která se specializuje na česko-slovenské známkové unikáty.

Královská filatelistická společnost v Londýně (The Royal Philatelic Society London) je nejstarším a nejrespektovanějším spolkem svého druhu na světě. Jak se na Anglii sluší, má dlouhou nepřerušovanou historii. Její kořeny sahají až do roku 1869, kdy byla založena Filatelistická společnost v Londýně jako uzavřený klub anglických gentlemanů. Do té doby také spadají počátky systematického sbírání známek. "Je příznačné, že společnost vznikla právě v Anglii, v zemi, která dala světu v roce 1840 vůbec první známku," zdůrazňuje Richard Burda z brněnsko-pražské filatelistické firmy Burda Auction."
