In cooperation with auction house Burda Auction, I attended the Silver Jubilee celebration of The Czechoslovak Philatelic Society of Great Britain, which took place in The Royal Philatelic Society in London in November 2013. During the wonderful session, the chairman of the society, Miss Yvonne Wheatley, asked me, if I could look over her cover from the Czechoslovak Currency Reform 1953. I have to admit, that I was really surprised when I saw such a brilliant item. At first glance I was holding in my hands an ordinary cover from 17th of June 1953, but sensationally franked with the stamp of the new currency Antonín Zápotocký 60h, catalogue Pofis Nr.737.

When Mr. Tønnes Ore of Oslo, Norway, passed away in August last year, the philatelic world lost a capacity in the field of postal history. His special interests concerned the development of postal services in the areas of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire from early times until present. He left a number of significant collections concentrated on certain provinces and areas, most of them exhibited internationally, like Dalmatia, Trieste, Fiume, South Tirol, Slovenia, Bánát & Bácska, Vojvodina, Western Ukraine, Austrian Silesia and Carpatho-Ukraine.
