Tønnes Ore collection of Carpatho - Ukraine

When Mr. Tønnes Ore of Oslo, Norway, passed away in August last year, the philatelic world lost a capacity in the field of postal history. His special interests concerned the development of postal services in the areas of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire from early times until present. He left a number of significant collections con­centrated on certain provinces and areas, most of them exhibited internationally, like Dalmatia, Trieste, Fiume, South Tirol, Slovenia, Bánát & Bácska, Vojvodina, Western Ukraine, Austrian Silesia and Carpatho-Ukraine.
The Carpatho-Ukraine exhibit has been developed and improved by Mr. Tønnes Ore over 20 years to reach its present high international level. He put emphasis primarily on quality and rarity. Mr. Tønnes Ore has attended with his Carpatho-Ukraine collection several international philatelic exhibitions, for example Praha 2008, Bul­garia 2009, Antverpia 2010 with latest reward in International Gold Medal in Indonesia 2012, in Jakarta. It contains many extraordinary and rare items.
