První poštovní známky karibského ostrova Svatá Lucie byly vytištěny tiskárnou Perkins Bacon v Londýně v roce 1860 v nominálních hodnotách 1, 4 a 6 pencí. Rytinu s portrétem královny Viktorie zhotovil C. H. Jeens. Celkem bylo vytištěno 8640 jednocentových, 3120 4 centových a 4080 6 centových známek. Další dvě emise stejného designu byly tištěné již v tiskárně De La Rue.
V letech 1871 - 1872 byly na ostrově vydávány vlastní poštovní známky přepravní společností St. Lucia Steam Conveyance Company Limited.
