1939 PLATE PROOF / plate proof of finally refused design of the first Slovak stamp Hlinka 50h in brown color; combined printing of two blocks of 10 stamps in two different size - 21,5x29mm and 19,5x26mm; made according to the design of Slovak painter Štefan Bednár; on sheet of paper without watermark and gum, size 248x345mm, contains 4 lines of horizontal perforation 10½; this plate proof has been known since 1939 - noticed in article of L. Novotný in magazine Slovak Philatelist 2/1939; with Synek certificate, one of the rarest and elusive item of Slovak philately, great rarity! U:DR
